Pre Freeze procedures - First time user

I have pre-frozen trays of apples.  I read in the manual that I have to pre-cool FD before adding cold food.  However, i cannot find instructions on how to pre-cool the FD. How do I do this?  Also, do I skip anything since the food is already frozen?  Recipe says 8 hours freeze cycle. Do I just leave this or adjust down?  The instructions in manual are vague.

Hey Nancy,

Here are two ways to pre-freeze your food:

  1. Freeze the food on trays in the freezer first, then transfer it to your freeze dryer and run the freeze cycle for 30-60 minutes, then run the dry cycle.

  2. Pre-freeze the food in separate containers, like bags, then break it up, place it on trays, and run the freeze cycle for 30-60 minutes, then run the dry cycle.

Thanks
